How to Get to Bansko from Sofia Airport?

Our Saturday to Saturday guests have shared airport transfers included in the cost of their holiday, each group booking includes one return airport transfer.
We advise landing in Sofia around midday so that you have time to get to Bansko and get kitted up with your ski or snowboard equipment ready for your first morning, get unpacked and settled into the chalet to enjoy your first evening meal.
If you are making your own way to Bansko, here are your options:

Airport Transfers

Private airport transfers are available for all group sizes. Your driver will meet you at the airport and drive you straight to Bansko. Prices start from 110 Euros for a car with 4 passengers.

Shuttle Buses

There are shuttle bus options that go between Bansko and Sofia airport with Traventuria and Holiday Extras. These are usually at set times and are shared with other travellers but are a great cost effective options for individuals or couples.

Train

The train is the scenic but lengthy option!
The trip takes over 6 hours and involves a change onto a narrow gauge train to complete the journey to Bansko but it can be combined with a stopover in one of the high mountain spa villages that the train passes through. It's also a great option as a standalone day trip from Bansko.

We advise booking flights that arrive in Sofia around lunchtime, this gives you enough time to settle into the chalet and then head to the ski shop to get kitted up so that you are ready to go on your first day of skiing. These timings do mean an early start but they avoid rushing and stress on your first day of skiing.

We are just a 10 minute walk to either the Bansko Gondola Lift or to the Old Town, or cross over the river and be on bustling Pirin Street in just a few minutes.
